How to machine wash your winter jacket

If your winter jacket needs more than a surface refresh, you can machine wash it — just follow these steps to protect the fabric and maintain waterproof performance.

1. Check before washing
Always read the care label to confirm your jacket is machine washable.

2. Prepare your jacket
⋅ Empty all pockets.
⋅ Zip up all zippers and fasten all snap buttons.
⋅ Turn the jacket inside out to protect the PU-coated surface.

3. Machine wash your winter jacket
⋅ Use a cold water programme (30°C / 85°F).
⋅ Add mild detergent (no bleach, softeners, or waterproofing additives).
⋅ Wash with similar colors.
⋅ Rinse thoroughly to remove soap.

4. Dry according to material
⋅ PU coating: Hang to air dry completely before storing.
⋅ Nylon: Tumble dry on medium heat (40°C / 104°F) for 30 minutes.
⋅ Down: Tumble dry on medium heat (40°C / 104°F) for full insulation recovery.

5. Refresh your jacket
⋅ Use a steamer on low heat to remove wrinkles.
⋅ Or, iron on low heat with a cotton cloth between the fabric and iron — never iron directly

Reminder: Always check the care label before washing, drying, or steaming.
