Quality Control

All components of Rains products stand confidently under the standards of REACH; the European legislation regulating registrations, evaluations, authorizations and restrictions of chemicals. Together, with international testing centers, Rains continually tests the components of products in order to ensure the highest standards of quality control. All individual product specifications can be found in the product descriptions and details section of the product pages.

Manufacturing

We maintain a close relationship with our product manufacturers, rainwear specialists based in China. Our suppliers have been an integral part in the development and production of Rains collections since we started in 2012. All of our products are manufactured in factories with more than 15 years of experience in rainwear and performance garments. Rains is proud to partner with professional, ethical factories that produce high-quality products in safe working conditions. The factories are aligned with Rains’ employee standards, including but not exclusive to: secure health insurance, proper working schedules, and clean working environments.

Do Rains products contain PFAS?

RAINS products are made without intentionally added PFAS. In addition, our products are tested and shown to be below established detection limits defined by relevant regulatory authorities, including the limits set by the Danish Ministry of Environment, which has introduced one of the most stringent PFAS restrictions to date for clothing, footwear, and waterproofing agents.
PFAS are a large group of substances (often referred to as “forever chemicals”) with more than 14,000 identified chemistries worldwide. Because PFAS can occur unintentionally in trace amounts through complex global supply chains, it is not always possible to guarantee absolute zero presence. However, consumers can be confident that regulated PFAS are not detectable in RAINS products, and that we do not intentionally add PFAS at any stage of production.
The industry is still learning how PFAS can appear unintentionally in different aspects of the manufacturing process. We always make sure to stay informed of the latest scientific findings and regulatory guidance, and we continuously update our practices as best standards evolve.
